Located in Newport, Rhode Island’s main square until the beginning of the 20th century, The Horse Trough Fountain gave way to the horseless carriage. From archival photographs in the library of The Newport Historical Society, Newmans recreated the horse trough in bronze. Now in the Square, the bronze horse trough is its focal point.
